A Court of Frost and Starlight. On his way back to Squadron in France, flying from England, Biggles gets lost in fog and has to land to find out where he is. Biggles flies higher than the waiting German Albatrosses and dives straight through them, camesl the Rumpler in one burst at the end of the dive.
